Local amenities
As a residential neighbourhood, Saint-Joseph has all the necessary amenities, such as nursery and primary schools, a boules court, a swimming pool, a stadiumand a sports hall, and is also home to the town hall for Marseille’s 13th and 14th arrondissements. The town hall is housed in a bastide, also known as the Château de Saint-Joseph, built by Louis Sauveur de Villeneuve, ambassador to Constantinople. It was acquired by the city of Marseille in the 1970s. It is situated in the heart of the Grand Séminaire park, which covers nearly 2 hectares. The estate also features a neighbourhood community centre and a nature centre comprising an educational garden, an orchard, a wooded area and several activity rooms. The Grand Séminaire Park is a truly special place where you can go for a stroll or stop for a picnic.
