Le Couvent, a creative hub in the heart of Belle de Mai

Located in the Belle de Mai neighbourhood, Le Couvent, a former religious building, is a true hub of artistic life. With its artists’ studios, exhibitions, concerts and cultural events, this hybrid venue brings together creators, local residents and curious visitors all year round in a friendly, alternative atmosphere.

With its restored former chapels, its garden and its free programme focused on the emerging scene, Le Couvent perfectly embodies Marseille’s creative energy.

SOMA

SOMA is a hybrid arts centre founded in 2020 in the heart of the Cours Julien. Designed as a space for creation and experimentation, it hosts a multidisciplinary programme combining visual arts, performance, dance, music and film. Its deliberately raw space invites artists and researchers in residence to rethink their practices and explore new forms of artistic production. More than just an exhibition space, SOMA also aims to be a place for meeting and sharing, thanks to its cultural bar, which hosts talks, debates, screenings, concerts and DJ sets. Through this open programme, the venue seeks to promote access to culture and foster dialogue between artists and the public.

This unique venue hosts exhibitions, performances, screenings and artistic gatherings in a creative atmosphere that is accessible to all.
A real springboard for emerging artists, the gallery helps to keep the cultural and alternative spirit of La Plaine alive whilst fostering exchanges between artists and the public.

Sissi Club, a must-visit venue on the Marseille art scene

Located right in the city centre, Sissi Club is a third place, an art gallery and an exhibition space that has become a key fixture on the local art scene.

Founded in 2019 by curators Élise Poitevin and Anne Vimeux, the venue was initially conceived as a project space dedicated to emerging practices before evolving into a gallery in 2022.
