Around the Old Port

For those planning to spend their evening around the Old Port, the atmosphere promises to be particularly festive.
Over on the Quai de Rive Neuve, several iconic pubs will be joining in the festivities. The Little Temple Bar, the Shamrock and many more will welcome you with a warm and friendly atmosphere, perfect for sharing a drink to the sound of music. The Queen Victoria, the only English pub in the area, will add a distinctly British touch to this summer evening.

To celebrate the arrival of summer in style, the Radisson Blu is hosting its traditional Deep Blu pool party, an event that has become a must-attend. Fancy an exceptional setting? Head to the Citadel of Marseille, on Fort d’Entrecasteaux, for an evening under the stars with a spectacular view of the Old Port and the city. Please note, booking is essential! And to stay up high, the Café du Fort Saint-Jean offers an open-air experience with one of the most beautiful panoramic views in Marseille.

In the city centre

Over in the Joliette area, Les Docks Village is also getting into the party spirit. La Place des Canailles invites you to join in the dancing with an XXL Bachata class that promises a festive and friendly atmosphere. Fans of US rap and hip-hop, meanwhile, can head to R2 – Rooftop des Terrasses du Port for an evening of the best urban sounds.
Prefer to enjoy the music over a lovely meal? Les Réformés offers the perfect alternative with an elegant atmosphere, refined cuisine and breathtaking views over the rooftops of Marseille.
For a more traditional evening, head to the Marseille Opera House, which is hosting a free concert by the Marseille Philharmonic Orchestra.
Over in Castellane,RockyPopcelebrates music all day long,  a musical brunch, entertainment and a tropical atmosphere in the evening with a Tropical Latino Cumbia DJ set.

Over on Cours Julien

If you had to choose just one neighbourhood to experience the Fête de la Musique in Marseille to the full, it would undoubtedly be Cours Julien.

The true epicentre of the festivities, this iconic neighbourhood comes alive every year with concerts, DJ sets and live performances. Between Place Notre-Dame-du-Mont, Place Jean-Jaurès and Cours Julien, let yourself be swept away by the electric atmosphere that fills the streets and terraces. Here, music echoes from every street corner and the party seems never-ending.

La Dame du Mont welcomes you with an eclectic line-up and its house cocktails, perfect for kicking off the evening. On Place Notre-Dame-du-Mont, the Red Lion Downtown awaits you in a festive and relaxed atmosphere, a Marseille-style take on the English pub.
Just a few metres away, Morrison’s will keep the party going with its own programme and its ever-so-friendly atmosphere.

By the Sea

Overlooking the Mediterranean, the evening promises some wonderful moments too.

This month, the “Voie est Libre” event switches to night-time mode for a special Fête de la Musique edition. Join us from 6pm to 11pm on the Corniche Kennedy to enjoy a varied line-up spread across five stages set up facing the sea.

Prado Beach will be buzzing from 7pm with the party organised by Fun Radio as part of the Freestyle Cup village. DJ sets, a summery atmosphere and feet in the sand: all the ingredients are there to keep you dancing until the end of the night.
Just a stone’s throw away, the Red Lion, a Marseille seaside institution, will be hosting live concerts and DJ sets in its ever-so-warm atmosphere, right next to the pub on Bowl Beach.

Over at L’Escale Borély, Sport Beach will also be hosting a festive evening combining music, cocktails and views of the Mediterranean.

A little further afield

Fancy getting off the beaten track? Several venues in Marseille also offer great alternatives for celebrating music.

Set in lush green surroundings, the Parc de la Moline welcomes the band Sortie de Secours from 7.30 pm for a free evening blending pop, rock, electro, soul and big hits from yesterday and today.
To celebrate the arrival of summer, the restaurant Les Jardins du Cloître is organising a large bonfire in its magnificent courtyard, accompanied by a concert from the Oasa Band.
Haven’t heard of Le Talus yet ? The eve of Fête de la Musique is the perfect opportunity to discover this unique socio-environmental and cultural third place in Marseille. On the programme: activities, workshops, a friendly atmosphere and open-air karaoke.
Finally, the Château de Forbin invites you to enjoy a whole day dedicated to music and sharing. Morning session, lunch & talk, sunset vibes, DJ set and al fresco dinner: a festive programme in an exceptional setting to celebrate the arrival of summer in style.

These few suggestions are just a few ideas: every neighbourhood in Marseille is getting into the festive spirit on 21 June. All across the city, bands and artists – whether amateur or seasoned – are taking over bars, restaurants and even just street corners to fill the air with music and celebrate the arrival of summer in style.
