Ciel Rooftop

On Earth, Marseille already shines, but when you get up high, the city shows its true splendor. Ciel, a new spot in the heart of downtown, offers a 360° panorama of Marseille and the Bonne Mère, the nickname of the basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde. This place welcomes you with a minimalist decor where sleek white furniture, wooden floors and glass walls are the order of the day to make the most of the view, even while seated at the table. At the entrance to the restaurant, a small swing is installed to immortalize a few shots with a view, to publish on Instagram as a souvenir of your visit.

Les Réformés

Perched atop the cinéma Artplexe, the rooftop des Réformés overlooks the Marseilles district from which it takes its name. On one side, it overlooks the Église des Réformés, on the other, the basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde. With a central place in Marseille, this location has boosted the neighborhood, which had previously been little exploited. With a very vintage decor, the cuisine offered on this rooftop terrace is inventive and rich in flavor. The menu features ‘snacked octopus’, ‘beet tatin’ and ‘charcoal-smoked trout’, recipes based on local and terroir products. To combine gastronomy, conviviality, music and panoramic views of Marseille, this is undoubtedlythe place to be not to be missed during your visit to the Phocaean city.

Accommodating up to 2000 people within a space of 1250 m², this venue presents a weekly program where French and international artists and DJs keep revelers dancing until a maximum of 2am. Concerts, exhibitions, outdoor screenings, street-food and private privatizations are also organized within the plant-decorated R2. The hotel’s bar welcomes you in spring and summer on its roof terrace to enjoy an incredible view of the city and its Vieux-Port, from the Panier district in the 2nd district. Dantès Skylounge

At the very top of the Sofitel, a 5-star hotel, nestles the Dantès Skylounge, a bar with 150 m² of terrace sweeping Marseille, from the Mucem to the Bonne Mère. Settle comfortably into one of the cosy armchairs to enjoy the view the rooftop has to offer, and the barman will take care of the rest. The choice of cocktails and spirits is extensive, enough to bring you back to this Marseille rooftop several times. If the evening gets a little too drunk, you can even book a room within the hotel for an unforgettable stay in south of France.

Dantès Skylounge The Rowing Club rooftop

With an initial mission aimed at rowing enthusiasts and professionals, the Rowing Club has made its roof terrace available to the people of Marseille and visitors passing through, to create an unprecedented space for relaxation. Similar to the Dantès Skylounge, but with a more relaxed ambiance, this rooftop offers a breathtaking view over the entrance to the Vieux-Port and its monuments. With friends or as a couple, the venue is perfect for drinking a drink while enjoying the sunset. You can also extend your drink on the terrace by choosing to stay for dinner in the establishment’s restaurant. This will give you the opportunity to enjoy a different panorama of Marseille once night falls. Every Sunday, a brunch featuring sweet and savory foods is offered for guests wishing to treat their taste buds.
