The Pharo garden

and its exceptional view of the Vieux-Port

Located on the heights of the Old Port, the Pharo garden offers a breathtaking view of the Cité Phocéenne and the entrance to the port. In addition, the Palais du Pharo located in the heart of the park has an elegant architecture that is well worth a visit!

An exceptional park in Marseille

Magnificent view of Marseille

The garden extends over nearly 5.7 hectares and enjoys a magical view of the Old Port of Marseille. From the Joliette district to the Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica, via the Mucem, the Saint Jean fort or the Saint-Ferréol les Augustins church, you will be able to see many of Marseille’s monuments. You can also enjoy the view of the Côte Bleue, located to the east of Marseille, and its many aqueducts. If you have the opportunity, take advantage of this park at sunset: the view is clear and the colours on the port and the masts of the boats are splendid.

A place full of history

The Emile Duclaux Garden surrounds the Palais du Pharo. The latter, intended to be an imperial residence, was offered by the city to Louis Napoleon Bonaparte, who never stayed there. It is now an international conference centre for congresses, conventions and symposiums.

A family-friendly park

A place that is easy to access

Numerous tarmac paths allow you to walk all around the park and enjoy the different views of Marseille and the surrounding area. You can easily stroll around with your pushchair, and children will be delighted to bring their bikes or scooters.

In addition, numerous benches have been installed to allow everyone to sit down for a break, have a picnic, or simply contemplate the ballet of boats entering and leaving the port.

A playground for children

A playground is available for families, its use is under the responsibility of the parents. There is also a merry-go-round for the little ones and a refreshment bar to quench your thirst!
