The unmissable Good Mother

One of the places not to be missed for an appointment is and remain  Notre-Dame de la Garde ! Thanks to its panoramic view of Marseille and in particular le Frioul et le Château d’If  will continually attract you. To dazzle your partner, you can learn some liturgical notions such as the ex-voto, memorize the map of the city, “ you see the lights over there? that’s the temple of Marseille, the Velodrome OM’s stadium”, and you pose for a selfie with the amazing view. And if the circumstances are against you, no problem, why not lightning  a candle inside the crypt!

On the rocks of Malmousque

Malmousque is a timeless place, not only in summer you can enjoy it. On a sunny day, you can go and buy one of the best pizzas in Marseille, l’Angelina de l’Eau à la Bouche of course, an aperitif or a soft drink, and you go down to this quiet and authentic district. Two possibilities, either you take the street “Va à la Calanque” and head for the port where a little climbing will be necessary to reach the best places. Or on the way to the  Légion parking lot, where you can admire the sea and  l’Ile Degaby from the esplanade and go down to the rocks easily.

Along the Corniche Kennedy

Running along the seaside or just taking  a walk with your lover, it’s the winning bet to admire the Mediterranean sea as far as the eyes can see. From the Rhul to the Prophet beach, do not hesitate to place your knowledge on the longest bench in the world  (3km), because yes, we are from Marseille and so a bit chauvinistic!  Advise him of good addresses like Chez Marco, and you can even brag about winning beach volleyball once in 2017,  we won’t say more. From the statue David, you also have a say, something to ‘chat’ with César’s helix, “made by the sculptor who imagined the prestigious French award of the same name, and do you know  ‘le Pouce’, near the Museum of Contemporary Art?”, so run with it!

L'Estaque, an authentic district

Ah l’Estaque, its port, its little boats, its small kiosks that selle the best chichis and panisses of Marseille… We move a little away from the city center, and we find the calm of this typical district. A favorite place for painters such as Cézanne, Renoir or Braque ( take notes especially to say so on date). Go and get lost in its small flowery streets while savoring your pastries, enjoy the view from the esplanade of the Church… And did you know that the Estaque district also hosts Provençal jousts? The perfect excuse to come back this summer!

In Pagnol's footspeps

We make an appointment in the heart of the district of la Treille, in Pagnol’s hills, for a trip into time! We are inspired by Marius and Fanny (except for the end), and we discover, according to the tourist signs present in the districts of  Eoures, Camoins and  la Treille, all the Pagnol-like heritage of Marseille. To dazzle with your knowledge of the news, we’ll give you the news : at the end of February,  le Château de la Buzine, or “Château de ma mère”, will host an exhibition dedicated to the famous  provençal writer. The opportunity to discover this still confidential monument of Marseille, to stroll in the park, have a snack at the tea room or even have a painting depending on the programme!

At the end of the world in Les Goudes

We keep the best for last,  namely the most beautiful nature has to offer, the Calanques. Do not worry, no effort is needed to head to les Goudes, easily by taking the bus 19 and 20, and more particularly getting to Cap Croisette and enjoy a breathtaking view of  Maïre Island from la Baie des Singes, or the port of  Goudes. If you have thought of putting on your trainers, turn around and head for Alexandre Delabre Boulevard to reach  the Callelongue calanque and admire its fishermen’s houses and its little port.  And if you want to follow up with dinner, you will be spoilt for choice with la Marine des Goudes, l’Auberge du Corsaire or le Grand Bar des Goudes !
