A little trip to Chicoulon

Do you know what a chicoulon is? In Provençal, it is a small glass of wine, well measured out, that you take for the pleasure of refilling. Edouard Mireur, the owner, wanted to pay tribute to his grandmother with the name of his wine bar restaurant, and the least we can say is that it has been a success since 2017! Chicoulon is a multi-purpose place that acts as a wine cellar, restaurant and even a privatisation on request. It offers a very specialised selection of French wines, from the most accessible bottle to share for an aperitif to the most exceptional bottles for an occasion. The restaurant’s menu changes every day with a limited but local and seasonal selection. Go to 59 rue Grignan to enjoy it!

All sheltered at Saint-Victor

Saint-Victor is full of places to have a drink, but for lovers of natural wines and good food, l’Abri (shelter) is the place to go! Nestled on the Boulevard de la Corderie, the bar offers a beautiful space to have a drink, share a few plates, all in a super friendly atmosphere. Their wine is vinified on site in vats that you can see at the end of the restaurant. The grapes are organic, grown in the Alpilles and picked by hand before being brought back to their cellar on the Boulevard de la Corderie to be offered to connoisseurs and beginners.

Without ceremony at les Trois Coups

Les Trois Coups are two addresses to discover, firstly a cellar located on the Boulevard de la Libération, and secondly a restaurant, a stone’s throw from the Place Castellane on the Rue Saint-Suffren. The atmosphere of Les Trois Coups is “à la bonne franquette”(informally, without ceremony), you can have a drink with friends at the counter, sit down at a table to share some original and tasty dishes, with chefs in residence who change several times a year. No time to get bored! What we like about Les Trois Coups is the feeling of being at home, with the best wine and no obligation to cook.

A cozy moment at Voila Vé

Head to the Boulevard Chave to enjoy organic or biodynamic wines at Voila Vé! Opened in 2019, this wine bar has made its mark on the neighbourhood’s clientele thanks to its selection of wines and quality tapas. With Alix in the dining room and Victor in the kitchen, what we love about Voilé Vé is the cosy atmosphere, the patio ideal for Mistral evenings, their generous panisses and charcuterie boards. As a bonus, they organise events all year round, oursinades, Savoyard fondues, music festivals etc…

L'Imprévu, the italian way

Near Castellane area, the Italian/Corsican bar l’Imprévu welcomes you in an atmosphere “like at home” around authentic products bought directly from the producers, and with a very nice selection of Italian and French wines. Come and enjoy some antipasti on the terrace from Tuesday to Saturday evening!

A little Prov'Oc(ation) at Cours Julien

Come and discover the Prov’Oc concept just a stone’s throw from the Plaine! An organic, biodynamic and natural wine bar, selected directly from independent winemakers. The principle of Prov’oc is simple, they take care of the drinks and you bring what you want to eat! This makes for convivial moments, shared on a protected terrace, very practical in winter, or inside on a cosy table amidst the bottles. The place even proposes bubbles and spirits or local beers.

Good mood is shared at the Cave des 20

20 partners, that explains the name of the Cave des 20! This place, which aims to be convivial, gourmet and for gourmets, offers 700 references of wines from all over France. Open from Tuesday to Saturday, with the possibility of lunching there and tapas aperitifs on Thursday and Friday, what more could you ask for to have a good time? With friends, as a couple or just for lovers of good wines and spirits, the Cave des 20 is the place to be!
