Description
ANIMA lotta is an unconventional and atypical quartet, composed of four soloists who bring to life humanist poetry in Sicilian and French.
They draw inspiration from the folk traditions of the Mediterranean, from their instruments, from what defines them, and from their reality.
Vocals, mandola, tuba, and painter’s drum set come together to prioritize the sound and language of their rich acoustics, reflecting the intentions of people moved by the emotionally multifaceted nature of the human condition.
Carine Lotta’s compositions explore love, freedom, the present, and nonviolence, within an aesthetic where the fervor of folk songs, the energy of the blues, and the power of Mediterranean rhythms and melodies converge.
People dance and sing to these creative impulses—like an intuition, a survival instinct, a sixth sense, a visceral, subconscious, obvious, and profound expression.
Fundamental and sincere, the message is conveyed with passion, impartiality, and gentleness.
