Guide to LGBTQIA+ and gay-friendly venues in Marseille

June is here, and with it comes Pride Month. To mark the occasion, we’ve picked out a few places that bring Marseille’s LGBTQIA+ scene to life. Whether you’re a resident of Marseille or simply passing through to celebrate Pride on 4 July, here are a few must-visit spots to discover Marseille in all its diversity.

Updated on 2 July 2026

The LGBTQIA+ Centre

Opened in December 2023, this hybrid, multi-purpose space is open to all lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex people, as well as their allies. It is organised around three complementary areas: the Bar, the Health and Social Services Centre and the Community Space, designed to meet the diverse needs of the community. A true cornerstone of queer life in Marseille, this venue is a place for socialising, listening, mutual support and celebration.

Address: 17–19–21 Rue Chevalier Roze – 13002 Marseille

Le Boum

Open for four years now, Le Boum has taken the Cours Julien by storm with its colourful façade and original programme of events. Much more than just a gay bar, the venue has established itself as a true hub of intercultural life, hosting drag queen and drag king shows, concerts and performances by queer artists, as well as comedy club nights. As a ‘safer’ bar, the venue has implemented a policy to combat sexist and sexual violence and discrimination, aiming to provide the safest possible space for everyone!

Address: 21 rue André Poggioli – 13006 Marseille

Le Pulse

Located in the heart of the 6th arrondissement, Le Pulse is an LGBTQIA+ bar on the Cours Julien, a neighbourhood renowned for its narrow streets and street art culture. Renowned for its inclusive atmosphere, it welcomes everyone and offers a genuine sense of belonging, with a lovely terrace that’s perfect for meeting up and socialising. Themed nights and DJ sets liven up the weekends with a house and techno vibe.

Address: 94 Cours Julien – 13006 Marseille

L’Annexe Bar

L’Annexe Bar has carved out a prominent place for itself by clearly embracing its gay identity whilst warmly welcoming straight people. With its relaxed terrace atmosphere and dance nights that go on until the early hours, the venue attracts a young, mixed crowd. It has quickly established itself as a must-visit spot for those seeking a perfect blend of bar and nightclub.

Address: 7 rue Saint-Bazile – 13001 Marseille

Polikarpov

Located on the Cours d’Estienne d’Orves, this LGBTQIA+-friendly bar boasts a superb terrace just a stone’s throw from the Vieux-Port. It regularly hosts concerts, DJ sets and festive events in a friendly atmosphere. The perfect spot for a sunny happy hour…

Address: 24 Cours Honoré d’Estienne d’Orves – 13001 Marseille

MUST – Marseille United Sports for All

What if pride could also be expressed on the sports field? MUST (Marseille United Sports for All) is an LGBTQIA+ sports organisation that proves sport can be a genuine space for freedom, inclusion and self-expression. Rugby, football, tennis, hiking… a wide range of sports are played here in a supportive, inclusive and uninhibited environment, far removed from hostile changing rooms and inappropriate comments. During Pride Month, as indeed throughout the year, MUST reminds us that LGBTQIA+ people have every right to be on the playing fields just as much as anywhere else.

The Cabaret Aléatoire

Situated at the heart of the legendary Friche la Belle de Mai, the Cabaret Aléatoire is one of Marseille’s leading venues for alternative and inclusive culture. Its major techno and electro nights bring together a diverse, queer and allied crowd in an atmosphere where people dance without labels and everyone is celebrated.

Address: 41 rue Jobin – 13003 Marseille

La Fièvre

La Fièvre is the lesbian and queer energy that has been bringing Marseille to life for several seasons now. This 100 per cent all-female, feminist collective creates party spaces that are as rare as they are precious: nights designed by and for lesbian, bi, trans and queer women, as well as their allies. Fiery DJ sets, artistic performances, a sisterly and activist atmosphere… Each event is as much a political statement as it is an invitation to let your hair down on the dancefloor.

La Dégaine

La Dégaine is the gay night out that has established itself as an unmissable fixture on Marseille’s queer nightlife scene. Behind this festive collective lies a simple yet radical ambition: to offer the LGBTQIA+ community spaces to party that reflect who they are – free, joyful, unapologetic and uncompromising. Top-class DJ sets, live performances, a wild yet welcoming crowd… every event is a celebration of the pride of simply being. This summer, La Dégaine is taking things up a notch. Keep an eye on their social media – you won’t want to miss a single date…
