The Old Port

To be at the heart of the show

Of course, the Old Port is the place to be for the July 14th fireworks display. From either side of the quays, you’ll be immersed in the magic of the show. You’ll have a front-row seat to enjoy the sound of the rockets, as well as the choreographed music. Don’t come too late if you want to set up on the Quai du Port: it’s the best place to see the Old Port, the Fort and Notre-Dame de la Garde at the same time, which means it’s always crowded!

The Pharo garden

To overlook the Old Port

The Palais du Pharo is the ideal place for families wishing to enjoy the show without having to enter the hustle and bustle of the city center. Mind you, there are a lot of people who choose this option, so you won’t be alone! The advantage is that you can take advantage of the large expanses of grass to relax and wait for the fireworks to start. There’s just one thing you’ll need to do to enjoy the show: arrive early to get the best seats.

Esplanade de la Tourette

For a 180° view of the harbour entrance

Located in the Panier district, not far from the Mucem, the esplanade de la Tourette boasts a 180° view of the Vieux-Port basin and Fort d’Entrecasteaux. Accessible from the Quai du Port via a staircase, it’s a great place to get some height. You can then sit back and enjoy the ballet of rockets piercing the Marseilles sky, far from the crowds (which is all relative, since this festive day is always very crowded!).

Saint-Victor Abbey

For a friendly atmosphere

Head for the 7th arrondissement for a convivial, festive occasion! From the Esplanade Saint-Victor, you’ll enjoy a splendid view of Fort d’Entrecasteaux, with the majestic Palais du Pharo in the background. However, the view is limited on the Old Port side, but the atmosphere is guaranteed! You can even visit the Café de l’Abbaye just above to enjoy a sunset aperitif before the fireworks show.

Marseille's rooftops

For an unforgettable evening

And if you’d like to take advantage of the opportunity to grab a bite to eat with a panoramic view, several rooftops are offering a special deal for the evening of July 14. This is the case at Ciel Rooftopwhich is organizing an evening with DJ Set starting at 7pm to enjoy a gourmet moment and admire the fireworks over the rooftops. Sofitel is also offering specially designed menus for the occasion. Sample exquisite dishes at the gourmet restaurant Les Trois Forts, but also at the brasserie Le Carré Bistromanie and the bar Le Dantès Skylounge.

Be careful!

Depending on weather conditions, fireworks may be postponed or cancelled, so it’s important to find out before you go!
