Which restaurants to choose in the calanques?

If you plan to stay in the region, you cannot miss the famous Calanques of Marseille. Between land and sea, the Calanques are a hymn to nature that must be admired. After a day of hiking or lounging by the water, you will probably want to try a delicious dish in one of the many restaurants established in the Calanques. Between bouillabaisse, poutargue and Provençal rosés, there is no doubt that the good places to eat will make your taste buds salivate.

La Grotte

In the heart of the Callelongue Calanque, La Grotte is a restaurant on the waterfront with a refined decor. Established for more than a century in Marseille, this establishment offers Provencal specialities, pizzas, meat and seafood. Depending on the season, you can try a freshly caught bass, turbo or red mullet. After a hearty meal, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the small harbour between the sun-bleached limestone rocks and the sea. Guests of this friendly restaurant usually leave with a full stomach and highly recommend it to their friends.

Le Château

With a breathtaking view and dishes cooked with finesse, Le Château is located in the Sormiou Calanque. The cuisine offered is typically traditional with a focus on seafood. Cold starters, hot starters, meat, fish, cheese, homemade desserts and ice creams, all guests will enjoy themselves! However, do not plan to visit this establishment unannounced, especially in high season. Reservations are highly recommended, otherwise you may not be able to get there, especially if you are driving. The restaurant is only open from April to September.

Eating at Chez le Belge has to be earned! You will have to walk a little more than 40 minutes to reach this restaurant so dear to the people of Marseille. Located in the Marseilleveyre Calanque, you will discover a place out of time and out of the hustle and bustle of Marseilles where the cuisine is simple, without fuss and delicious. You will enjoy a breathtaking view with your feet in the water! A real little corner of paradise. Attention no reservations and no credit card, you are warned!

 

Le Nautic Bar

Located in the Morgiou Calanque, you can enjoy seafood, of course! Le Nautic Bar overlooks the Calanque and its little port, a heavenly place. In the summer, you can’t drive there if you haven’t booked in advance, and the restaurant doesn’t accept credit cards.

 

Les Tamaris

Nestled in the Saména Calanque, Les Tamaris overlooks the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. Set on its shaded terrace in a friendly setting, you can enjoy refined and gourmet Provencal cuisine.
