Pedestrianised Marseille « La voie est libre »!

Who hasn’t dreamed of a quiet stroll along our beautiful Corniche Kennedy? Well, it’s possible! Come and enjoy a car-free Sunday! Just the sound of the waves and the gabians! A great way to reclaim our Marseilles coastline. So get out your sneakers, bikes and rollerblades, and let’s get ready for another edition of “La voie est libre”!

Where and how?

The next edition of“La voie est libre” will take place on Sunday March 23 from 10am to 7pm. A day when traffic will be gentle and serene, when everyone will be able to take full advantage of Marseille’s coastline and sunshine, and finally reclaim public space.

The pedestrian route will cover the Corniche Kennedy between Catalans beach and Talabot.

Along the way, toilets and information points will be available for everyone, as well as cultural, sporting, fun and musical events in which everyone is invited to take part if they wish. Scooters, bicycles, tandems, rosalies and even triplets will be available for self-service throughout the walk.
If you’re feeling peckish along the way, foodtrucks will be on hand to satisfy your every craving.
You’ll also enjoy a variety of entertainment, strolling and music, enough to keep you in a good mood all day long!

For motorists

For those who will be driving, don’t worry! Detour will be in place for the duration of these special measures, to ensure that everything goes smoothly! These measures do not apply to emergency vehicles.

The next editions of “La voie est libre” will take place
on Sundays April 13, May 11 and June 22, 2025.

Parking and traffic measures

  • Traffic

    Traffic will be prohibited: 23/03/2025 from 9am to 8pm

    On Corniche Kennedy between :
    – Promenade Georges Pompidou and avenue Talabot and in this direction
    – avenue Talabot and rue du Commandant Dessemond
    On Traverse Pey between :
    – Boulevard Bompard and Corniche Kennedy
    Rue Pierre Mouren between :
    – Rue d’Endoume and Corniche Kennedy
    On Promenade Georges Pompidou between :
    – Rue du Commandant Rolland and Corniche Kennedy and in this direction.

    Detour will be set up.
    Traffic will be authorized only for organizationvehicles, garage access for local residents, and emergency and home medical care vehicles.

    Traverse Sainte-Hélène between rue Pierre-Mouren and Corniche Président-JF-Kennedy.

    A PRM parking area will be set up at the entrance to the pedestrian zone. On the Corniche Kennedy between rue du Colonel Serot and avenue Talabot. Electric carts will be available.

    9h>10h – Securing the pedestrian zone
    10h/19h – La Voie est Libre
    – 18h/20h – Progressive reopening of traffic lanes

  • Parking

    Parking will be prohibited

    – All parking spaces on the median strip at n°397,
    – Odd side, 20 m from chemin du Vallon-de-l’Oriol

    – Place Paul Ricard in its entirety
    – Parking opposite Villa Gaby

    From 03/22/2025 at 9:30pm to 03/23/2025 at 11pm

    – Parking de l’Hélice (Mémorial des Rapatriés d’Algérie) in its entirety
    -Square Danjaume in its entirety
