Description
At the Mucem, Wajdi Mouawad brings ideas to life in a gripping one-man show.
Invited in 2025 to the Collège de France to deliver his inaugural lecture on the chair “The Invention of Europe Through Languages and Cultures,” Wajdi Mouawad drew inspiration from the experience to create *L’ombre en soi qui écrit* (The Shadow Within That Writes), a stage adaptation in which thought becomes theater. Alone on stage, he presents a deeply moving meditation on writing, exile, memory, violence, and that part of each of us that resists knowledge.
Blurring the lines between lecture, theater, and poetry, this performance by one of the greatest authors and directors of our time brings to life a narrative of rare intensity, one that questions both our relationship to creation and to our history.
