A 2-hectare park, a new living space at La Busserine for multiple uses
An ambitious project
The Plaine des sports et des loisirs covers more than two hectares and is located in the Busserine district, between avenue Salvador Allende to the south, avenue Raimu to the east and boulevard Mattei to the north.
The project was initiated by the City of Marseille as part of the redevelopment of the area around the L2 motorway, which passes underground at this point. The project was integrated into the urban renewal program, connected to the Busserine district and its surroundings, with a strong ambition for a high-quality facility. Work began in January 2023 and was completed in June 2024, with an ANRU subsidy of 3.7 million euros and net expenditure by the City of Marseille of 7.1 million euros.
This project is a new incarnation of the city's ambition to recreate links, shared living spaces, green lungs and cool places to meet and build a neighborhood life. A resource for a new hub of conviviality and nature.
