The current health situation has forced many cultural venues to adapt and go digital !  Museums and other cultural venues have made every effort possible to allow visitors to continue discovering or rediscovering their permanent and temporary exhibitions. YouTube videos, streaming, live performances…these sites offer you new experiences and continue to bring art to life.

The Mucem

The Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations is an open, multidisciplinary space.  It presents a cultural, social, but also scientific and political view of the plurality of civilizations that have made up the Mediterranean world from prehistory until today.

In order not to lose the link with their public, the Mucem offers virtual visits of exhibitions, lives, documentaries, festivals, courses and thematic tours.

The gardens of Fort Saint-Jean remain open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week.

Marseille History Museum and the Ancient Port

The History Museum of Marseille offers you a virtual tour of the site of the ‘Vieux Port’ (Old Port).  At the gates of “Massalia” (for the Greeks) or “Massilia” (for the Romans), this is where the boats came to deposit their cargoes.

Cantini museum

It is dedicated to the so-called “modern” period of the twentieth century, which extends from 1900 to the 1980s. The collection includes works by renowned artists such as Henri Matisse, Oskar Kokoschka, Pablo Picasso, Jean Arp, Alberto Giacometti, Balthus, Antonin Artaud and Francis Bacon. During this special period, the Cantini Museum offers you the opportunity to come to you virtually. 

The Radiant City – The Corbusier

Discover without moving, a flat classified as a historical monument within the ‘Cité Radieuse’ of the architect Le Corbusier. In normal times and all year round, complete visits with a guide from the Tourist Office and Congresses are offered.

Museum of African, Oceanian and Amerindian Arts ( MAAOA)

The incredible story of the Kachina dolls. These small popular statuettes, hand-carved and painted in bright colours, are messengers of the gods for the Hopi and Zuni Indian peoples, who live in Arizona and Colorado in the southwestern United States. The MAAOA has a collection  of Kachina.

Beaux-Arts Museum

The Beaux-Arts Museum of Marseille is one of the oldest museums in the city. It is now housed in the north wing of the Palais Longchamp and contains sculptures, paintings and drawings from the 16th to the 19th century.
