Who hasn’t dreamt of a quiet stroll along our beautiful Corniche Kennedy? Well, it’s possible! Come and enjoy a car-free Sunday! Just the sound of the waves and the gabians! It’s a great way to reclaim our Marseilles coastline. So get out your trainers, bikes and rollerblades and let’s get ready for another edition of “La voie est libre”!

Where and how?

The next edition of“La Voie est Libre” will be held on Sunday 22 February, from 10am to 6pm. It’s a day to take it easy on the traffic, enjoy the sunshine and reclaim public space .

The pedestrian route will stretch along the Corniche Kennedy, between the Catalans and Talabot beaches.

Toilets and information points will be available all along the route, for the comfort and well-being of everyone. A host of cultural, sporting, fun and musical activities will be on offer for young and old alike. Scooters, bicycles, tandems, rosalies and even triplettes will be available on a self-service basis to enhance the walk.

And if you’re feeling peckish, there will be several foodtrucks on hand to satisfy every appetite. You’ll also enjoy festive strolls, a variety of music and a friendly atmosphere to keep you in a good mood all day long!

For motorists

For those of you travelling by car, don’t worry! Diversions will be in place for the duration of these special measures to ensure that everything goes smoothly! These measures do not apply to emergency vehicles.

Parking and traffic measures

  • Parking

    Parking will be prohibited

    From 19/02/2026 at 9.30pm to 23/02/2026 at 11pm
    Corniche Kennedy :
    – On all the parking spaces in the area around no. 397,
    – On the odd-numbered side, for 20 m from chemin du Vallon-de-l’Oriol

    From 21/02/2026 at 9.30pm to 22/02/2026 at 11pm
    Corniche Kennedy :
    – Place Paul Ricard in its entirety
    – Car park opposite Villa Gaby
    – Parking de l’Hélice (Mémorial des Rapatriés d’Algérie) in its entirety
    – Square Danjaume in its entirety
    – Car park opposite the “Traverse Clastrier” in its entirety
    – All of the Marégraphe car park
    – All of the Prophète car park

    From 21/02/2026 at 9.30pm to 22/02/2026 at 11pm
    Corniche Président JF-Kennedy
    – Between avenue Talabot and rue Capitaine-Dessemond, both sides
    – Between avenue du Colonel-Sérot and avenue Talabot, both sides
    Traverse Sainte-Hélène
    – Between rue Pierre-Mouren and Corniche Kennedy on both sides
    Promenade Pompidou
    – Between avenue du Colonel-Sérot and rue du Commandant-Rolland on both sides
    Rue Félix Frégier
    – Between Corniche Kennedy and n˚7 on 10 regulated parking spaces

  • Traffic

    Traffic will be prohibited: On 22/02/2026 from 9am to 7pm

    On the Corniche Kennedy between :
    – Promenade Georges Pompidou and avenue Talabot and in this direction
    – Avenue Talabot and Rue du Commandant Dessemond

    On Traverse Pey between :
    – Boulevard Bompard and Corniche Kennedy
    Rue Pierre Mouren between :
    – Rue d’Endoume and Corniche Kennedy
    On the Promenade Georges Pompidou between :
    – Rue du Commandant Rolland and Corniche Kennedy and in this direction.

    Diversions will be set up.
    Traffic will only be authorised for vehicles involved in organising the event, access to local residents’ garages, emergency and home medical care vehicles , bicycles and scooters.

    For local residents: Sunday 22 February from 9am to 7pm
    Traffic will be restricted to two-way traffic by authorised personnel, exclusively for the vehicles listed above.
    -Traverse Sainte-Hélène between rue Pierre-Mouren and Corniche Président JF-Kennedy.

    PRM parking at the entrance to the pedestrian zone on the Talabot side.
    Corniche Kennedy between rue du Colonel-Sérot and avenue Talabot (electric buggies will make it easier to get around along the route).

    9am > 7pm – Securing the pedestrian zone
    10am>6pm – La Voie est Libre (The way is free)
    7pm – Progressive reopening of traffic lanes
