PhotographerIt’s time for the 25th edition of Marseille Jazz des Cinq Continents! It’s an important year for the festival, which is decked out in its finest colours, as seen in the poster designed by the famous illustrator and film-maker Javier Mariscal. To take you around the world, the festival, always deeply rooted in its time and its territory, remains faithful to its itinerant character within the city and unfolds in iconic and heritage sites of Marseille: the Théâtre de la Sucrière, the roof terrace of the Friche la Belle de Mai, the Centre de la Vieille Charité, the Citadelle of Marseille new site taken over by the festival, the Conservatoire Pierre Barbizet, and the Théâtre Silvain. Nearly 25,000 festival-goers attended the concerts at the 24th edition, reflecting a wealth of generations, backgrounds and tastes. These were special moments when the audience and the artists came together in vibrant harmony, creating the magic of the festival.
Marseille Jazz des cinq continents is a festival committed to the city as a whole, encouraging people to come together, share their knowledge of different cultures and peoples, and encourage the practice of the arts. Marseille Jazz des cinq continents is designed to be a place of well-being, a place where people can meet and enjoy each other’s company and the music we all love. We seek to develop a safer space, one in which all people feel valued and respected. As such, and in line with our commitments, we have a zero tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. We support the fair treatment of all people, regardless of their diverse identities.
