What is the ZFE-m zone?

The Marseille Low-Emission Zone (ZFE-m) establishes a zone within which the movement of the most polluting vehicles is gradually restricted, with a view to reducing road traffic emissions by encouraging the replacement of the most polluting vehicles.

Which vehicles are affected?

ALL motorised vehicles (cars, two-wheelers, motorised tricycles and quadricycles, commercial vehicles and heavy goods vehicles), whether for personal or business use.

The Low Emission Zone (LEZ) scheme is based on the national CRIT’AIR sticker system, which classifies vehicles according to their pollutant emission levels. Each vehicle is classified on a scale of 0 to 5 (or as ‘unclassified’). The sticker is MANDATORYfor every vehicle.

Vehicles authorised to travel within the zone (the boundaries of the Low Emission Mobility Zone (ZFE-m) of the Aix-Marseille Provence metropolitan area*) are those holding the following Crit’Air certificates:

Vehicles on the road whose certificate does not meet this standard, or which do not have a certificate, are prohibited from driving inthe restricted-access zone and are liable to the penalties set out in Article 11-6 of the Order of 10 September 2019.

The vehicles listed in the prefectural order are excluded from the scope of the provisions relating to differentiated traffic restrictions.

€68 for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and motorised two-wheelers.

Where should you park a vehicle that is not authorised to be on the road?
