The Théâtre du Gymnase is one of the main cultural stages in Marseille: every year it hosts a varied national and international program, combining theater, music and dance. Its director Dominique Bluzet also directs the Théâtre du Jeu de Paume, the Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix-en-Provence, and the Bernardines.

The Théâtre des Bernardines joins the ''Théâtres'' adventure from the 2015-2016 season, thus joining the programming of the Théâtre du Gymnase in Marseille, the Théâtre du Jeu de Paume and the Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix.
