The 2.3-hectare Parc de l'Oasis was created in 1983 by the City of Marseille.
The park has held the "Ecojardin" label since 2012, meaning that it is maintained in an ecological manner to preserve biodiversity. It is divided into three distinct parts. This compartmentalized configuration allows for the creation of specific atmospheres in each zone, and encourages visitors to stroll around, creating a dynamic path of discovery.
The first is located on the northern part of the former Delorme camp. It was completed in 1983 and includes a garden, flowery mounds, copses, squares, a skating rink, a fountain and a courtyard originally dedicated to shows.
The second - located on the former La Rouvière estate - was inaugurated on July 16, 1984. It comprises a large meadow to the north, surrounded by rustic vegetation (hazelnut, myrtle, hawthorn, etc.), the former manor house now housing a music school (a branch of the Cité de la Musique), a green space to the south featuring quality plants (cedars, magnolia, cypress, palm trees, 40 écus trees, etc.) and a children's play area.
The third part is located to the south of the Rigaudière estate and was laid out in 1985. It includes a play area for pre-teens (stadium...), a fitness center and a jeu de boules area.
In June 2018, a large pollinating insect hotel was installed in the park.
