Municipal facility dedicated to environmental awareness
This new municipal facility dedicated to environmental awareness is located at the entrance to Bougainville Park.
It comprises a magnificent stone building, ecologically designed, and a 700 m² plot for an educational garden.

In addition to a sensory tour of the park, the relais-nature offers children the chance to get involved in the creation of the educational garden in the making, thanks to the "Imagine your garden" activity.
Activities on the theme of trees, waste and recycling are also planned; a program that will be expanded in the coming months.

► Information and booking for groups: clescale@marseille.fr

► General public: the sensory discovery tour of the park is open to all on certain dates, more info at www.marseille.fr/environnement/relais-nature

The relais-nature team offers educational activities, mainly aimed at young people in Marseille's elementary school, but also at the extracurricular public (leisure centers, social centers, medical-educational institutes, associations, families, etc.). Events for the general public, such as open days, are organized from time to time.

Depending on demand, two types of activity are offered:

a one-day or half-day discovery visit ;
an educational project, spread over several sessions, on a pre-defined theme.
All activities take place in small groups, with the emphasis on experimentation.

Main themes of activity :
The garden
Discover the life cycle of plants, grasp the notion of seasonality, learn basic ecological gardening techniques, understand soil life and the benefits of composting. Participate in garden maintenance, from sowing to harvesting. Become a budding gardener and create a school garden.

Food

Biodiversity
Explore the richness of the local animal and plant kingdom, identifying and classifying species. Observe flora and small animals in their environment (soil, pond, compost, tree, hedge, etc.), grasp the notion of ecosystem. Understand the role of garden helpers and pollinating insects. Become aware of the fragility of biodiversity and learn how to preserve it.
