The Chapelle Notre-Dame du Bon Voyage stands at the entrance to the Calanque de Port-Miou, on the site of an ancient temple dedicated to Promylius, the patron goddess of travel.
This chapel was built in 1649 by the Consuls and dedicated to the Virgin, in response to a plague epidemic. In August 1845, it was demolished to make way for a quarry, but a new chapel was built next door 3 years later.
Chapelle Notre-Dame du Bon Voyage is not open to the public, but since 1720, on the first day of July, a procession starts from Église Saint-Michel and mass is celebrated in the open air, in memory of a vow made by Curé Cabrol and his faithful during the great plague.
