5 Continents Jazz Festival

For this 26th edition, the festival will once again take over the city's emblematic sites, including the Vieille Charité, the Conservatoire Pierre Barbizet, La Friche Belle de Mai and the new Parc Henri Fabre. An intense program is on offer, reflecting the tremendous enthusiasm we're experiencing for jazz today, with new music and new artists, where audiences can rediscover the sounds that have shaped us through time and space, with the same attention to creation, energy and message. "We want Miles!!!" 2026 will be the centenary of the birth of the greatest Jazzman of all time... Marseille Jazz des cinq continents is a direct descendant of Miles Davis. Improvisation, inspiration, innovation, live music at its best and a formidable ability to work as a team with the best. Without upsetting our balance, we're opening up a new path for Jazz des cinq continents: a new site on which we'll be able to experiment with new uses, participatory workshops, guided tours, professional meetings, masterclasses, an organic market and cuisine, as well as crossing disciplines and aesthetics .... Looking forward to April 30.... We're preparing a huge mobilization for International Jazz Day 2026. On that day, we'll be offering 16 concerts in 16 schools in all sectors of Marseille. The program will feature local artists who have answered our call to give over 500 children a taste of jazz. This work will be preceded by a mediation session during which pupils will be able to write down their impressions and expectations following the discovery of what Jazz music is, its struggle and its history. They will write a letter addressed directly to Herbie Hancock, the patron of International Jazz Day, with whom we have established a valuable contact. In this way, we hope to make a concrete link, in the imagination of the children of Marseille, with a legend established on the other side of the ocean.
