Donation boxes: Christmas spirit at the heart of the Tourist Office

At this festive time of year, the Tourist Office aims to redefine the spirit of welcome. The solidarity boxes are part of this desire, bringing warmth and comfort to those who need it most.

What is it?

Beyond our classic mission of guiding visitors through the wonders of our city, Christmas gives us the opportunity to celebrate the spirit of sharing that makes this season so special.

Created in 2020 by the French Red Cross, the successful “Christmas Boxes for Sharing” initiative has spread across France. The principle is simple: prepare a gift box for people in need, with inside: 1 item of winter clothing/accessories (hat, gloves, scarf, sweater…), 1 hygiene or care product (soap, shampoo…), 1 food product (non-perishable and unopened), 1 leisure activity (book, card game…) and 1 short note, drawing, poem.

A long-term project

For the third year running, the Office de Tourisme, des Loisirs et des Congrès de Marseille is taking part in this initiative by acting as a collection point.

All gift boxes will be collected and redistributed by two wonderful associations:

  • Osmose13″ is a charity that supports people living on the streets of the 1st arrondissement, bringing them warmth and comfort over a hot meal. Dominique and Carole have an enormous amount of energy and love to give, and carry this association at arm’s length. A little help is always welcome, so don’t hesitate!
  • Sourire pour les anges” is an association founded by Michelle and her husband in 2009. They provide meals and organize events for the 150 people in their structure. This year’s “Goûter de Noël” for children will be held on December 17 at the 6&8 town hall.

Partners, residents and visitors, we invite you to join us by dropping off your gift boxes.

Together, let’s make this holiday season an unforgettable time of sharing.

Happy holidays to all! 🎁🌟
