The Detaille family, photographers from Marseille (1860-2024)

Place: Marseille History Museum
Description: The “Detaille: photographers of Marseilles (1860-2024)” exhibition at the Musée d’Histoire de Marseille highlights over a century of photography through the work of three generations of the Detaille family, major figures in Marseilles photography. Thanks to a studio collection recently acquired by the city, it reveals the historical and cultural wealth of Marseilles, offering a unique insight into the development of the area and its inhabitants.

Marsiho e la Mar

Description: From 7 October 2025, the Château de la Buzine presents Marsiho e la Mar, an exhibition on the link between Marseille and the sea, from the XVIIIᵉ to the XXᵉ century. More than 200 works and objects from local heritage collections offer a fresh look at this maritime imagination, in an immersive scenography combining art and ethnography.

Les veilleurs – Ali Cherri

Description: The Les Veilleurs exhibition at the [mac] in Marseille is based around two totem poles acquired in 2024. Ali Cherri stages a dialogue between his works and pieces from the museum’s collections, freed from traditional museum narratives to become matter and emotion.

“Infiniment bleu. Arts décoratifs, peinture et mode” exhibition
