The differents departments
Priority number one is Reception: The bureau is open for business every day of the year, except 25th December and January 1st . Roughly twenty polyglot receptionists are available, speaking five languages.

The second priority is national and international promotion of Marseilles as a destination, taking the concrete form of actions organised by two departments:
- Promotion of convention and business tourism “Conventions Bureau”
- The Leisure Promotion.
Taken together, these 2 departments are present every year at roughly forty international trade fairs for professionals and the general public.
Promotional action is backed up by close links with the local, national and international media, maintained by the Press department. We are seeing a constant increase in the number of enquiries from journalists.
The ”Products” department associated with leisure promotion is responsible for creating “nautical and urban cultural products”: to do with creation and commercialisation of visits, in the sectors of both culture and leisure (sea excursions, kayak…).
Two other departments also make an active contribution to implementation of this promotional policy; the documentation department and the multimedia department.
The administrative departments manage and co-ordinate the actions organised by the different departments.
The Marseilles Convention and Visitors Bureau employs 43 full-time staff.
To optimise synergies, all these actions are carried out in partnership with tourism professionals and the institutional bodies concerned with tourism (Atout France, Ministry of Tourism,…).
