WHITE WARD, hailing from Odessa, Ukraine, performs intensely deviant music with a black undertone.

Formed in 2012 and rooted in raw depressive black metal, the band quickly shed all boundaries, drawing inspiration from a range of dark atmospheres including the writings of H.

The band's excellent early recordings were compiled in the compilation "Origins" released in 2016.

The debut full-length album "Futility Report" was released in 2017 by Debemur Morti Productions to instant critical acclaim.

Exploring themes of borderline death states, aberrant afterlife worlds and strange mental disorders, WHITE WARD's sound had evolved into a unique blend of Post-Black Metal, deeply emotive soundscapes and expansive dark-Jazz atmospheres using perfectly matched saxophone patterns.

WHITE WARD have continued to evolve in distinct directions with 2019's much-loved "Love Exchange Failure": the dark-jazz aesthetic is more vibrant and deeper than before, the blackened Death, Progressive and Black Metal elements - powered by new drummer Noctum - are now more furiously intense and complex.

Lyrically, the record has explored more universal, less abstract dimensions, delving into the abyss of the human psyche atop the band's most lush and professional sound to date.

In 2021, WHITE WARD composed and recorded two new songs to celebrate the 200th release of their Debemur Morti Productions label.

In keeping with the band's experimental progressive black metal, the new "Debemur Morti" EP welcomes Lars Nedland (BORKNAGAR, SOLEFALD) on vocals.

Work on a new full-length album is currently underway.
