  • Designed as an archeology documentation centre on ancient trade, 'le musée des Docks" (Docks museums) refers to the port activity of Marseille between the VI th century before JC and the IV th after J.C.

  • The very vocation of the city as a transit port is revealed through the large storage vases or Dolia preserved in Situ which bear witness to an important big trade in the city. Museum houses the result of underwater archaelogical research by presenting several objects from the wrecks of ships that sank off the coast of Marseille.Amphorae, fittings and everyday objects one all evidence that we need to better understand life on board ship and its constraints under the Jules...
