“Barvalo”, meaning “rich” and by extension “proud” in Romani, is about the history and cultures of the Romani populations of Europe. The exhibition also deals with anti-Gypsyism against which those who continue to be called
“Gypsies” have been struggling for a millennium. It was designed collaboratively by a team of nineteen people of Romani origin (Roma, Sinte, Manouches, gypsies, travellers/travellers) and non-Romani, of different nationalities and backgrounds.
