What is the Underwater Museum of Marseille?
The Underwater Museum, as its name indicates, is a museum located … underwater. Monumental and majestic sculptures have been placed at a depth of 5 meters (16 feet) so that the public can come and admire them, there are 8 of them for the moment.
The museum aims to raise public awareness of environmental issues, marine biology and to awaken people to the world of art and water sports (snorkeling, diving).
The godfather of the Museum is the three-time freediving world champion, Morgan Bourc’his.
The artists create the various sculptures in recycled marine cement with Ph Neutral in order not to impact the marine environment. These works, skillfully exhibited, create an artificial reef.
