The Cloud doesn't just report on a derailed global climate; it also takes the temperature of our very lives.

It all starts with a cloud. Or rather, two clouds. The toxic cloud of the Chernobyl disaster and the invisible cloud of the digital cloud, the planetary network that powers today's artificial intelligence. With The Cloud, Arkadi Zaides offers a powerful performance, at the crossroads of documentary choreography, political investigation and technological experimentation.
Against a backdrop of videos, archives, sound montages and projections, the resolutely progressive piece questions the point of convergence between ecological catastrophe and technological revolution. On stage, the performers evolve at the heart of this continuous flow of images, testimonies and personal or fictional accounts that scroll past and intertwine. By juxtaposing these two "clouds", this performance invites us to reflect on the major ethical, social and environmental issues of our time. It engages the shared responsibility of humans and machines in shaping our past, present and future.
The Cloud doesn't just report on a global climate that's going off the rails; it also takes the temperature of our very lives. Perhaps it's in this inner weather that an essential issue lies: how can we make sense of what our bodies are feeling, as they are inevitably caught up in the mutations of the world?
