Our eco-responsible guided tours

The Marseille Metropolitan Tourist Office offers many guided tours each week, some ot them are geared towards more responsible tourism. With the Balade buissonnière, you will discover the biodiversity  in the city as well as the urban flora. With the visit of the Belsunce district you will meet engaged  inhabitants and places of artistic creations. Visiting the Parc du Roy d’Espagne will introduce you to a surprising residence!

Take advantage of your stay to discover the organic markets and local producers who offer you seasonal products from our region.

Marché paysan de la friche : Every Monday from 4p.m. to 8p.m. You will find small local producers at this market. Cheesemakers, bakers, market gardeners, beekeepers and many others.
The small market of Zoumaï (cours gouffé) : Every Saturday from 10a.m. to 1p.m., organic vegetables, organic bread, wines, coffee, and local beers!
Le petit marché des Calanques : It is held every Tuesday from 10am to 1pm on the esplanade of the Calanques theater in the 8th district of Marseille. You will find market gardeners, butchers, organic bread, wine.
Marché bio du Cours Julien : It takes place every Wednesday from 7am to 1pm. You will find around thirty local producers.
Marché du cours Joseph Thierry : From Monday to Saturday, le Marché du cours Joseph Thierry offers fruit, vegetables and fish every day until 1pm. It is located near the Réformés metro station.
Marché Paysan Carré Méry : At the foot of the Intercontinental Hôtel Dieu, this small market welcomes every Thursday afternoon, about ten organic and local producers.
Marché Paysan Saint Pierre :  Local producers market, some of them organic: fruits, vegetables, eggs, cheese, olive oil. Every Thursday from 8am to 1pm in front of the Saint Pierre church,  place pol Lapeyre 13005 Marseille.
Terre de Mars: Market directly at the farm, organic market proposing fruits and vegetables of season cultivated by  Terre de Mars on the spot. Every Monday from 3pm to 7pm/ 6 rue Berthelot 13014.

EMMAUS pointe Rouge  Farmers Market:  Every Saturday morning. Producers of fruits, vegetables and bakers 110 Trav. Parangon, 13008 Marseille 10am to 1pm.

Waste collection

Participating in a waste collection is a human and friendly citizen action, allowing us to become aware of the impact of our daily gestures on our environment. Come with your family, friends or colleagues to set an example for future generations.

Volunteer nature workcamps

The Conservatoire des Restanques is 6 exceptional hectares of terraced land on the foothills of the hills of Marseille with a vegetable garden, an orchard and a herb garden respecting the precepts of agroecology. A biodiversity in the heart of the city, a haven of nature that must continue to exist. The Voluntary Nature Workcamps welcome volunteers supervised by the association’s employees, including the market gardener.
Your role: to garden, to work the earth, to tinker, to share by exchanging, to air the spirit! Open to adults and accompanied minors. To know more about it.

BioLit – Coastal observers

All year round, discover the biodiversity of the coastline with the BioLit program. Each of your observations can help researchers to better protect the coastline! So go to the coast, take your cameras and share your observations on www.biolit.fr. National program of participatory science on coastal biodiversity. Your role: Participate in a simple scientific program adapted to your level of knowledge / Transmit your observations and participate in the identification of species on the portal biolit.fr. Better understand the richness of habitats and inhabitants of the seashore. Open to adults, accompanied minors, minors alone.

Free activity – If you carry out your observations on a tidal zone, get information and take the low tide times. Finish your observations taking into account the time to return to the starting point.

Meet the educational farms of Marseille

Among the various tools for environmental awareness and education developed by the city of Marseille, the pedagogical farms are the most concrete way for city dwellers to reconnect  with the rural world. They allow the young public to discover, through animals and culture,  the land’s professions and agricultural production.

 Talus urban farm

Producers’ market every Friday at the Talus urban farm from 3pm to 7pm, products for direct sale,  from producer to  consumer, and discover the richness and diversity of our region’s productions! In addition,  100%  of the funds collected will be used to finance the construction of the urban farm Le Talus. This non-profit project aims to create a space dedicated to innovation, sharing and education around urban agriculture in Marseille. This former wasteland is intented as a place to witness sustainable  alternatives in term of ecological transition.

Roy d’Espagne educational farm

The  Roy d’Espagne educational farm is one of the nature awareness sites set up by the city of Marseille under a public service delegation agreement.
The farm is open every Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm and on Saturday from 9am to 12:30pm. Open to all free of charge and without reservation on these slots. A farm produce market is also organised during these times. The farm offers a Thursday on two of the  collective workcamps.

Educational farm Le Collet des Comtes

The farm is open to the public on Tuesday from 4pm to 6:30pm and on Saturday from 9:30am to noon. Access is free during the sale of organic vegetables. You can come see the animals and drop off your biodegradable waste for compost. A radio Sound Creation by Anne-Laure Manoury is available online to guide you through the farm. For children, Farm courses, Craft courses and ceramic courses are offered.
