  • Panoramic tour of Marseille

Duration : 3 hours – tour by coach (supplied by you or quoted on request). One guide per coach.

Itinerary : Departure from the Old Port, the historic heart of the city,  along the « Quai du Port » to reach the new ports of « La Joliette », created during the 19th century and now being restructured within the framework of the « Euroméditerranée » project. Through the Old City, the Panier district, up to the « Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde ». Stop : panoramic view, history of the site and visit of the Basilica.

Along the coastline over Corniche Kennedy to the « Parc Balnéaire du Prado ». Commentaries about the Villas of the Corniche, view over the Frioul archipelago and the If Castle. Along « Avenue du Prado » towards « Parc Chanot » and  Vélodrome Stadium. Back to the City Centre and La Canebière to reach the « Palais Longchamp ». Stop : history of the site and the buildings.

Back to the Old Port along a part of  La Canebière , evocation of the Grands Hôtels and Cafés of the 19th century.

Itineraries :
Old Marseille and "Panier" district : 26 centuries of history. From the Hôtel de Ville to the Vieille Charité, a walk throughout the Panier district, the oldest quarter in France.

The abbey of Saint-Victor : A wonderful example of a church that was formerly built in the 5th century and then fortified in the 14th century. (+2€ / pers ).

Notre-Dame de la Garde and the « ex-votos » : Notre-Dame de la Garde is a fortress as well as a sanctuary. It is an irreplaceable landmark, to local religious devotion.

The Vieux Port's Fortresses: Saint-Nicolas and Saint-Jean : With their superb military architecture. These symbols of the royal power watch over the oldest city in France.

Malmousque a seaside village : You'll find this fishing village hidden away, a few steps from the sumptuous villas of the Corniche.

The Dance school : This building designed by the architect Roland Simounet is the temple dedicated to Dance, the most demanding of discipline.

The Docks : These witnesses of Marseille’s trading history are today an outstanding example of successful rehabilitation,  within the framework of the « Euroméditerranée » project.

The « Second chance school » : A European pilot project located in a former slaughterhouse now rehabilited.

The cathedrals : Since the mid-19th century two cathedrals have been coexisting on a platform overlooking the port of La Joliette (Trading port).

Itinerary : L’Estaque and its painters, at the end of the 19th century, the arrival of Cézanne in this small fishermen’s village was the starting point for an adventure that was to give birth to the modern paintings.
